'Aqua Connect' - Bridging Soultions for Water Challenges in LAC
In strategic collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Lab and K-water, GDIN is implementing 'Aqua Connect'—a pilot program designed to co-design and pilot innovative solutions for chronic water management issues in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region.
The program serves as a vital bridge, connecting Korean water-tech expertise with local organizations to foster high-impact partnerships. The initial call for applications saw an overwhelming response:
-
LAC Participation: 97 companies from 11 countries applied, with 57 moving to the next round (to be narrowed to 30).
-
Korean Innovation: 23 proven Korean companies successfully passed the initial screening, ready to deploy their technologies.
Selected companies are now entering a structured 'Matching Phase' to form collaborative teams for real-world demonstrations.

The Future of Good Sleeping
The SleepTech market is evolving rapidly. Recently, Eight Sleep, the smart mattress pioneer, raised $50 million at a $1.5 billion valuation, highlighting a growing interest in active, AI-driven sleep intervention. Instead of merely tracking how we sleep, the industry is moving toward technologies that actively improve sleep quality in real-time.
Aligned with this trend, Korean innovators are setting new global standards through medical-grade AI and sophisticated hardware.
- Welt is a frontrunner in the Digital Therapeutics (DTx) sector, recognized for 'SleepQ', one of the first MFDS-approved digital treatments for insomnia. Building on this clinical success, Welt recently earned the CES 2026 Innovation Award for 'ZolipZ', a next-generation concept of "AI-integrated pharmaceuticals." Its AI agent analyzes real-time biometric data to predict insomnia and guides users on the optimal timing for medication.
- A multi-time winner at CES, 10Minds tackles snoring through a seamless blend of AI and non-invasive hardware. Its Motion Pillow system uses AI to detect snoring patterns and gently inflates internal airbags in the pillow to shift the sleeper’s head position, opening the airway and stopping the snore without waking them up.
